SHARING NOTES IN DROPBOX

dropbox-icon-256PROBLEM

You want to collaborate with friends or collegues on a set of notes. For example, if you are studying for an exam, you’d like to be able to exchange notes. Printing them out seems old-fashioned. But what else can you do?

SOLUTION

Luckily most Cloud services have the ability to share with specific people (or with the general public). The key is setting up folders

DISCUSSION

Once you have a Dropbox account, it is easy to set up different folder for different groups.

STEPS

Once you have a Dropbox account, it is easy to set up different folder for different groups.

  1. Launch the Dropbox web site (www.dropbox.com/home).
  2. Create a new folder by pressing the “New Folder” button near the search box.
  3. Name your folder to identify its purpose or contents.
  4. Deposit the contents you want to share. You can always add or subtract files in the future.
  5. Open the folder and press the rainbox folder to share.
  6. Enter the names of the people (if you know their Dropbox names) or their emails to invite them. Press “Done.”
  7. They will appear as Joined.

You may change the contents and people you are sharing with at any time. You can also send a link to the shared folder or any file inside a folder by highlighting the link button at the far right of each directory listing.
